Sound-absorbing fabrics

More than just a fabric

Our innovative, intelligent textiles have exceptionally good acoustic values in all frequencies.Fabrics are classified as A, B, C, D or E, depending on the assessed degree of sound absorption. Each absorption class has its own special area of use according to the acoustic conditions of the room in question.

drapilux 125

The honeycomb weave creates a, three-dimensional, firmly structured look featuring a honeycomb or waffle pattern. Fabrics with a honeycomb weave are soft and have a puffy feel. Due to their three-dimensional aspect, they boast exceptional acoustic properties. The range comprises 13 colours in the typical grey/white/neutral shades and on-trend colours.

drapilux 126

This all-round fabric has attained sound absorption class A. The criss-cross Panama weave and a sturdy chenille yarn used in the weft result in a durable fabric, which is ideal for all types of furniture covers and upholstery fabrics. Seven of the 13 colourways are categorised as neutrals. The other six colourways come in on-trend colours.

It is as classic as article 204 but focuses on neutrals, article 206 completes the drapilux collection using chenille. Chenille is French for caterpillar. The yarn has been given this name because it is supposed to resemble the hair on a caterpillar. These so-called protruding filaments consist of short, fine threads and always give the fabric a slightly light and dark shaded effect.

This article is a true all-rounder, offering good pilling values, high Martindale abrasions and a modern, natural-like look. Here, too, a yarn with cationic and anionic fibres is used in the warp and weft, resulting in a bicolour item as a result of the piece-dying process. The relatively coarse yarns, processed in a sturdy Panama weave, promote this natural character and also enhance the acoustic values as well as the heaviness of the fabric.

Article 109 comprises a coloured-yarn mix woven faux block print fabric. The special feature is in the detailing: at first glance, the viewer sees a plain fabric with a weave structure. The cleverly combined interplay of materials and weave creates a unique three-dimensionality with this transparent item. Thanks to the muted, clear and subtle colour palette, attention is drawn to the unusual appearance of the fabric – a more pronounced ribbed structure.

This semi-transparent fabric from the COORDN8 collection initially looks like genuine linen. The look is created by means of a special slub yarn made from cationic and anionic fibres that have been dyed differently. The range of colours has been consciously kept to a few neutral-like shades. Nevertheless, some bright colours are available.
