All under one roof

drapilux as a brand and Schmitz-Werke GmbH as a company are both deeply rooted in Emsdetten. This is why we have ensured that the entire manufacturing chain is kept under one roof here – from the initial idea to a new design to the dispatch of the packaged goods. This enables us to subject our goods to constant quality checks and guarantees the high quality of all of our products.

STATE OF THE ART

drapilux also represents the state of the art when it comes to the selection of its manufacturing technologies. One example of this is the use of four cutting-edge Dornier machines featuring leno or EasyLeno technology. This pioneering technology binds the weft to the warp threads and enables the manufacture of looser-weave fabrics with maximum shape-retentiveness.

Around 6 million running metres – or 8.5 million square metres – of high-quality decorative fabric are created every year on a total of 76 weaving machines in our very own weaving mill.

FLEXIBLE PROCESSING

drapilux is characterised by an enormous level of flexibility both in terms of colours and in equipping its fabrics with intelligent functions. We manufacture both piece-dyed and yarn-dyed fabrics and can, therefore, offer the ideal solution for any customer. This also goes for equipping the fabrics with intelligent functions. All of our fabrics are fire-retardant, but it is up to you to decide what functions the fabric should be equipped with, and whether you need it to fulfil just one or several functions. This is the flexibility we offer to fulfil individual customer requirements.

WE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

For us, evolving as a company and taking a forward-looking approach also means taking responsibility for the environment. We received the ASU award for environmentally friendly company management back in 1988. We use nature as our inspiration and base our manufacturing processes on the principle of closed cycles. We comply with the EU’s REACH Regulation, whose aim is to better recognise and thus avoid the risks that chemicals pose to people and the environment.

Protecting the environment is one of our corporate values, whether it’s in the manufacturing process or as the business credo of every single one of our employees.
