DESIGN AND FUNCTION BECOME ONE
MEETING HIGH STANDARDS
The first impression we get of a room is often determined by the textiles in it. The colours, the way the light strikes the material and the look of the fabric all show the room to be cosy, elegant or modern. For us, however, design does not just mean the aesthetic impact of the fabric. It differs from pure art in that design must be applied and has to actually work. These two requirements come together in commercial property in particular: textiles have to be stylish and functional. Our design atelier is specialised in the requirements of commercial textiles and is constantly finding new ways to unite functionality and design in a unique way.
FINDING THE EXCEPTIONAL IN THE EVERYDAY
For us, design often results from everyday things and the area of application. We are inspired by architecture, nature, art, fashion and by the people we see out and about who reinvent themselves every day. These influences are found on our travels and in our very own neighbourhoods.
OUR DESIGN TEAM
“We’re all about as different from one another as you can get – and that’s perfect in our line of work. It means we can complement each other’s skills and ideas and designs, making them as individual as we are ourselves,” says Miriam Arend, who works in the design atelier. “Our team works well together and cooperates closely with technical development,” Head of Design, Kirstin Herrmann, adds. “Together, we develop sophisticated designs that really work. What connects us all is our passion for what we do. This ensures that we don’t give up, even when things get really challenging, but that we work together to find a solution.”
