The Hotel Competence Centre presents and demonstrates products and solutions that hoteliers and restaurateurs need for the further development of their businesses. The most important thing: "Everything is fully functional - this is the only way to find out whether a solution is really the right one", explains Managing Director Christian Peter. "We not only want to explain what is optically and conceptually possible, but also show the interaction of ideas, technology and service", Peter continues. The exhibition covers an area of 3,500 square meters and is divided over three floors: The Gastro-Competence Centre is located on the ground floor. It is equipped with all items and utensils necessary for restaurant operations, from a model restaurant to a professional kitchen. One floor higher, the visitor reaches the hotel floor with eleven individually designed hotel rooms, including the luxurious Room 104. Anyone entering here will immediately notice the fabrics.
Thus the red decoration fabric drapilux 147 63 in combination with the natural-coloured drapilux 147 67 brings timeless elegance into the room. Both are dimouts - thereby, they dim the incoming light without completely darkening the room. The textiles are therefore not only convincing in terms of design but also in function. The colourful woven curtain, article drapilux 749 24, which is also used here, is flame retardant like all drapilux textiles, but has another intelligent function: thanks to drapilux air, the fabric is air-purifying. Metal salts incorporated into the textiles break down the odour molecules. These are converted into harmless carbon dioxide and water. In this way, bad odours are permanently broken down. Particularly important in contract market: The function remains even after frequent washing.
The fabrics of the pillowcases and the bed runner are also made by the Emsdetten-based manufacturer drapilux, one of the leading suppliers of flame-retardant curtains and decorative fabrics in Europe. Article drapilux 235 33 from the boutique collection brings colour and graphic patterns into the room. In addition, the fabric reduces sound intensity thanks to its special weaving construction. The abrasion-resistant article 206 78 in grey is a suitable addition. The sewing of all textiles was made by drapilux partner Seda.
The blackout curtains can be operated electrically in combination with the room control system made by Honeywell Deutschland Holding GmbH. The switch for this can be found on the bedside table and the technology can also be activated by gently pulling the curtain fabric. This is a prime example of the interaction between design and technology.
Room 104 is put into the right light by the lights made by SLV GmbH. Whether comfortable ambience or working light: The high-quality lamps of SLV are the right partner for stylish design. The floor made of real wood by Hain Natur-Böden GmbH not only provides a pleasant and warm walking feeling, it also combines high quality, luxury and lifestyle. The resistant furniture fronts of Resopal GmbH provide a homely atmosphere with their elegant appearance. Resopal is not only a decorative laminate, it also impresses with its multifunctionality: fire-retardant, flame-retardant, hygienic, acoustically effective, self-adhesive and magnetic. With its worldwide patented "dondola chair system" the company Wagner Living GmbH redefines sitting. The focus of the seating furniture is the three-dimensional dondola seat joint. It decouples the rigid connection to the lower part of the chair and thus activates micro movements which relieve and strengthen the spine. The media entertainment in room 104 is provided by Kraftcom GmbH in combination with the TV offer of Phillips Hotel TV.
