The minimalist pattern featuring a generous repeat is dedicated to Benita Koch-Otte – one of the most renowned students of the Bauhaus weaving workshop. She ran the weaving mill for the Burg Giebichstein School of Arts and Crafts in Halle. Her love of minimalism is reflected in drapilux 188: the warp and weft have been woven using block colours, the actual pattern is achieved solely by making a change in the weave. Five out of the six colourways are taken from colours found in nature; the only exception is a bright red with two different hues. The modern minimalist look blends well with strong colours – an ideal fabric for use in hotels as well as in an office or healthcare environment.
