Premiere in Florida: the "Cruise Ship Interiors Expo" took place in the sunny south of the USA. This trade fair focuses solely on the interior design of cruise ships. Four members of the Furniture Club were also there – including drapilux.
“An awesome event” was how Sales Director Hubert Reinermann summed up both days at the fair in the Miami Convention Center on 19 and 20 June. Along with Jérémie Chauvet, Category Manager for Ships, and Area Manager Cesc Solé, numerous new contacts were made during the event. “The quality of conversations and meetings was outstanding. It is only by attending this type of event that you can actually penetrate the circle of decision makers in the global cruise ship market, as they are actually few and far between”, said Reinermann, convinced that this is the case. After all, this sector consists of complex market structures. A cruise line may stem from the USA, its ships cruise in the Pacific, but the designer comes from the UK, the agent from Europe and the shipyard is based in Asia. Consequently, you have to keep all these different factors in mind.
Even the other members of the Furniture Club exhibiting at the fair – Nehl Wohnideen, GH Hotel Interior Group and Halbmond Teppichwerke – felt that the trade fair had a lot to offer and announced: “We’ll be back!” Although not everything ran smoothly at this year’s first event, the fair organisers were open to objective criticism and signalised that they were willing to listen. The Furniture Club is, nevertheless, gearing itself up to next year’s fair and intends to extend the size of the stand, in order to give the individual companies more room to present their goods and services.
